“Hello and welcome to Digital Career Tactics – the tactical career advice channel that’s all about getting the best job prospects – FOR YOU.”
Have you ever dreamt of working on your own terms, from anywhere and times that best suit you? Of course, you have. Truth be told, you don’t have to dream it, you can actually do this, it is possible.
But now, I hear you ask. Well, that’s what this podcast is all about. First, we need to establish a few things. What is a digital nomad?
Well, digital nomad is a term used to describe remote workers who can and will work at different locations of their choosing. Digital nomads are often found in coffee shops, co-working spaces, uni campuses, and the occasional pub. All nomads have one thing in common, they completely rely on smart devices and technology as well as a stable internet connection.
Being a nomad doesn’t necessarily mean you have to live a ‘jet-set’ life style, of course, if you can – go for it. Rather, even if you move around a certain geographical location, swap venues and dip into co-sharing spaces you can certainly add a level of variety to your working week.
To become a digital nomad you’ll need to be savvy, energetic, and really determined. Digital nomads create WordPress websites, run social media adverts, manage email marketing lists and so much more for numerous clients, they call the shots because they have the skills.
What separates digital nomads from the crowd are their ability to always upskill and their drive to learn new things. They don’t rely on other people to do the digital work for them, they know how to do it all, they do it themselves, they need to know how to do it all…they create, innovate and critically execute.
So, what are the benefits of being a digital nomad?
- It helps spark new ideas
- You’ll be very productive
- You’ll quickly become more flexible, agile
- You’ll build up a more personalised network
- You’ll have more time for yourself
Great, sold. So again, how do you start, what steps can you take to become a digital nomad?

That’s where we come in. We can help you on your path, to true nomadism. Become a digital assistant.
There is a growing need for digital assistants, in the majority of cases they work remotely, and it’s a great place to get started. Essentially you can perform the role of a digital assistant for people all over the world who require assistance with digital marketing, who doesn’t require your physical presence. This commonly involves scheduling, organising, and day-to-day marketing tasks.
The work differs from client to client and it can be a great starting point to bolster experience ready for your next step as a fully fledge digital nomad.
